Ovation

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Ovation is an app for creating event invitations and collecting replies. This page explains what it stores, why, and for how long. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who is responsible

Applicious, Switzerland. For any question about your data, write to privacy@ovationapp.ch.

What we store, and why

If you create an account

Your email address, and a password if you did not sign in with Apple or Google. This is the only way to let you back into the events you host. Signing in with Apple or Google gives us your email address and nothing else — we never receive your password for those accounts.

If you create an invitation

Whatever you put into it: the title and date, venues and times, the names and roles of the people you list, the wording of the invitation, and any photos you upload. This is the invitation itself, and it is shown to whoever you send the link to.

If you reply to an invitation

Your name, whether you are coming and with how many people, and — only if you choose to fill them in — your email address, phone number and a message. The host of that event can see all of it; nobody else can. A random identifier is also stored on your device so you can come back and change your reply without needing an account. It is generated by the app, is not your device's identifier, and cannot be tied to you outside this app.

If you add photos or sign the guest book

The photo or message, and the name you gave. Both are visible to everyone with the invitation link, which is the point of them.

What we do not do

Who else touches the data

The app stores everything with Supabase, which hosts the database and the photos on our behalf and does nothing else with them. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google — we never see your card details; we only receive confirmation from them that a purchase was made.

How long it is kept

A published invitation stays live for the length of the plan bought for it — 90 days on Basic, 365 days on Premium — and then expires. You can delete an event at any time from the app, which removes the invitation and everything on it, including replies and photos.

Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law and the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to privacy@ovationapp.ch and we will answer within 30 days. If you replied as a guest and want your reply removed, the host of the event can delete it, or you can write to us.

Children

Ovation is not directed at children under 16. Children are of course often guests at the events people invite them to, but an account is not needed to be one.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
