These terms cover your use of the Ovation app, provided by Applicious, Switzerland.
What the service is
Ovation lets you build an invitation for an event, publish it as a link, and collect replies, photos and messages from the people you send it to. Guests do not need an account or the app to open an invitation and reply.
Your account
You need an account to create and manage your own events. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
What you publish
Everything you put into an invitation stays yours. By publishing it you allow us to store it and show it to whoever holds the link, which is what publishing means here. You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload — photographs of other people included — and for the invitation not being unlawful, deceptive or abusive. We may remove content that clearly is.
Buying a plan
Publishing an invitation requires a one-off purchase for that event. It is not a subscription: nothing renews, and nothing is charged again unless you publish another event.
- Basic — the invitation link stays live for 90 days, up to 100 guests and 50 photos.
- Premium — the invitation link stays live for 365 days, up to 500 guests and 300 photos.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and the price you see at the moment of purchase is the price in your own currency, set by them. When the period ends, the link stops working; the purchase covers that period and is not extended automatically.
Refunds
Because purchases go through the App Store and Google Play, refunds follow their policies and are requested from them, not from us. If something on our side went wrong, write to support@ovationapp.ch and we will help.
Availability
We try to keep invitations reachable for the whole period you paid for, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service. An invitation is not a substitute for telling your guests the details yourself if something important changes.
Ending it
You can delete an event, or your whole account, at any time from the app. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent Swiss law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses — a guest who did not see a change of venue, for example. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Law
Swiss law applies. If we cannot resolve something between us, the courts of Switzerland have jurisdiction.
